The north and west of Singapore, from Bukit Timah and Clementi to Jurong, Novena and Seletar, cover the island's big residential heartlands. Brunch here is mostly about neighbourhood cafés, family-friendly restaurants and a handful of hotel buffets that draw residents who would rather not trek into town on a Sunday.
Prices are generally gentler than in the city centre, parking is easier and the settings, from nature-reserve fringes to converted heritage buildings, are often more relaxed. It's a good area to look for halal and family-friendly brunches, and for all-day brunch menus that run through the week as well as at weekends.
