East Coast & Katong

Singapore's East Coast, from Katong and Joo Chiat through Siglap and Bedok to Changi, is a neighbourhood of Peranakan shophouses, beachside parks and independent cafés. Weekend brunch here is a local, unhurried affair, with families heading to cafés and bakeries after a morning cycle along East Coast Park. You'll find all-day brunch cafés, seafood restaurants by the beach and a handful of hotel buffets, including halal-friendly options, at prices well below the city-centre hotels. Marine Parade, Katong Park and Tanjong Katong stations on the Thomson-East Coast Line have made the area much easier to reach, and Changi Village and the airport's Jewel are close by for those heading further east.
